This is important, more so than you probably realize, because depending on the meal that you are making, a certain type of cheese may go better with it than others.

Of course you always want any meal you make to come out as perfect as possible, and more than anything this involves a cheese fondue. Here are a couple of great fondue recipes that you can whip up in just a matter of minutes right at home.

Traditional Cheese Fondue

One cheese fondue recipe that you can try is this traditional fondue recipe. This is probably one of the best and easiest recipes that you will ever prepare. All you need is 1 garlic clove, 1 ½ cups dry white wine, 1 tablespoon corn starch, 2 teaspoons kirsch, 2 cups Emmental cheese coarsely grated, 2 cups Gruyere cheese coarsely grated, 1 loaf of sourdough bread, fondue pot, and some fondue forks.

To prepare this delightful dish, you just rub the inside of a 4 quart heavy fondue pot with the cut sides of the garlic so that you give a bit of flavor to the pot, then you want to discard the garlic, add the wine to the pot, and bring to a mild simmer over medium heat.

The next step is to mix the cornstarch and kirsch together in a separate bowl, then gradually add in both cheeses to the wine pot, making sure to stir while cooking them so that the cheese does not stick.

Once it is melted and creamy, you stir the cornstarch mixture, mix to the fondue, bring to a simmer, and cook for about five minutes. Then you transfer the cheese fondue mixture into a fondue pot set over flame and serve with cubed bread for dipping.

This cheese fondue recipe always goes over great, and is one treat that all the kids are sure to love. The kids may love it, but it is also extremely healthy and so you can let them dip their veggies in it without worry, laughing under your breath knowing that they are getting essential nutrients from this delicious cheese fondue and they will never know.
